Collection: Giclées

Giclée* prints are the highest quality print currently available. They are limited edition, signed, and numbered by the artist. They come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Because of their excellent quality, it is often difficult to tell a print from an original! Giclée prints are all archival. They can be printed on watercolor paper or canvas. The final image size varies depending on the original image size and proportions. These prints are normally larger than the color laser and archival prints. Watercolor Giclées usually come unmatted and unframed. However, in her studio, Claudia has a selection of already matted and framed Giclées available. Some are shown here. The selection changes over time, so please email or call and leave a message, if you don't see the image you want shown, or if you would like to know if there is an already framed version. Canvas prints are stretched over the appropriate bars. Prices for Giclée prints vary considerably depending on whether you choose canvas or watercolor paper, and the size. At any given time, what is available in stock varies. You may call or email to find out what is currently available, and/or make an appointment to come to the Gallery. To get exactly what you want, you should call and place an order. We will quote you a price, and your print will be produced individually for you.

* Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) is a French word meaning “a spraying of ink”. With the advent of giclée, the art of reproducing fine art has become even more precise. Giclée's have the highest apparent resolution available today -- as high as 1,800 dpi (dots per inch). In addition, since no screens are used, the prints have a higher apparent resolution than lithographs and a color range that exceeds that of serigraphy. Displaying a full color spectrum, giclée prints capture every nuance of an original and have gained wide acceptance from artists and galleries throughout the world.
